Since The Spectrum’s founding in 1950 as UB’s independent student news publication, thousands of students have come and gone. But a few things remain the same.
As the academic year comes to an end, The Spectrum would like to recognize its staff for all of the hard work, long hours, and professional-grade reporting that they contributed in 2023-24. From breaking news, to in-depth features, to social media and photography, this year’s Spectrum staff went above and beyond to inform the UB community.
Instead of attempting some cliché introduction, I’ll get straight to the point: The Spectrum is amazing. And when I say The Spectrum, I mean all of it: the publication itself, its history, its staff and alumni, its office (and the decorations on the walls), and the impact it has on this campus.
The team announced the hiring of Kevin Voigt as the director of basketball operations and assistant coach.
S. Todd Brown will assume the role of dean effective May 9. He has served as interim dean since July 2023.
Police arrested “approximately 16” pro-Palestine protesters on North Campus Wednesday evening, a UB spokesperson said. The arrests come after dozens of demonstrators attempted to form an encampment in a grassy area near Hochstetter Hall.
