Bulls Set New High for Fouls in Loss to EMU

It was a record-breaking night for the Bulls in Ypsilanti, Mich. UB toppled a record that has stood since the 1973-74 season: most fouls in a game, ousting the previous record of 36 with an all-time high of 42 fouls called against them.Buffalo fell to the Eastern Michigan Eagles 88-78 Monday night in Eastern Michigan's last home game of the regular season.

Women's Basketball Preview

There's nothing more painful than shooting yourself in the foot in an important game, but that's how the UB women's basketball team has been limiting themselves thus far this season.Coming off a disappointing loss Sunday night against the Northern Illinois Huskies in which the Bulls committed 26 turnovers, it's no secret to UB Head Coach Cheryl Dozier what the Bulls' focus in practice on Monday and Tuesday was going to be."I think the biggest key for Wednesday is coming into the game with a high level of confidence and taking care of the basketball.

Rivalry Game Begins Bulls' Run Through Gauntlet

As the 2002-03 season winds down for the UB women's basketball team, they find themselves in a position to choose their own destiny as far as how their season will end this year.Buffalo currently stands in third place in the Mid-American Conference East Division standings behind Miami of Ohio (10-8 overall, 5-2 MAC), and Kent State (10-8, 5-2). Despite a better winning percentage overall in the East, their MAC record of 2-4 is just one win more than 1-4 Marshall, 1-5 Ohio, and 1-7 Akron.

Anyone who has participated in organized sports clubs and teams know that there is a critical point in the season, the one point that can make or break the season and determine if all the players' efforts until that point had been for nothing.For the UB Wrestling team, this kind of pressure and do-or-die mentality does not apply since they have been doing well all season, coming into this weekend with a 6-2 overall record.

Bowling Green State University lost its number 25 spot in the coaches' rankings after a 29-17 loss to Northern Illinois University last week, and has fallen even further out of the rankings as they fell to the University of South Florida Bulls (8-2) 29-7 this past Saturday.

Men's Soccer MAC Quarterfinal Preview

Words cannot accurately portray the feeling of winning a championship in a sport. All those hours of grueling practice, all those hard-fought games, playing through injuries and inclement weather, all become worth it in the end when the players stand there on the field, holding that trophy high, rejoicing with their teammates.The UB men's soccer team was not able to experience this joyful sensation last year after a demoralizing first round loss to Bowling Green 1-0 in triple over-time.
