The men and women's track and field team battled through the sweltering Texas heat over the weekend to compete against some of the best teams in the country. The Bulls traveled to the Lone Star State to compete in the 84th Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
For the first time in school history, the men's swimming and diving team is the Mid-American Conference champion. The Bulls (6-2, 1-1 MAC) won the 2011 MAC Swimming and Diving Championships, breaking countless records and finishing the three-day meet with 763.5 points.
The baseball team was burned by more than the sun during its season opener in New Mexico over the weekend. The Bulls (0-4) traveled to New Mexico State (8-0) to compete in two doubleheaders, and lost all four games, 20-12, 15-3, 23-11, and 19-13.
The future of the women's swimming and diving program looks bright despite a disappointing end to the 2011 season at the Mid-American Conference Championships. The women's swimming and diving team (7-2, 2-1 MAC) broke five school records and earned NCAA B Cuts in several events.
It turns out that not all of the water in Buffalo is frozen, and swimming head coach Andy Bashor is using what little liquid is left to build his legacy. Bashor first came to UB in 2006 when he was named head coach of the women's swimming team.
