Ten years ago, Bill Cowell received a letter that changed his life. For Darren Cotton of Colden, N.Y., it started off as living in an apartment in University Heights with a deadbeat landlord who didn't fix anything. Cotton and his friends ran home to grab some tools out of their parents' garages - they had no previous experience or knowledge in repairs.

Growing up in Buffalo as the youngest of five boys, Seth Williams spent his childhood surrounded by food - growing in the garden, cooking on the stove and canned into mason jars. "[My siblings] would always fight over the last grab of the potato salad," said Williams, a chef manager at UB.

"Gering-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding! What does the fox say?" Josh Cao belted out in front of his fellow Gleemates to hysterical laughter.
