Drinking 101: How to avoid being that guy

While it’s fun to have a brew or two to bring in the new academic year, college students tend to have a little more than one or two — which is OK once in a blue moon!  That being said, it’s important to maintain good manners and be safe while drinking.

Dear professors, use your passion to make us care

It’s baffling how many UB professors’ lectures contain blank slides, plain Arial font, black text and one stock image of a textbook diagram per slide. As an educator, it’s a professor’s job to deliver engaging lectures so their students retain as much information as possible.

Cast of Napoleon Dynamite visits UB for screening and discussion

“Napoleon Dynamite” super fans flooded the Center for the Arts (CFA) theater, for a screening of a movie they’ve seen dozens of times over. Fans went to the April 13 showing to witness John Heder (Napoleon), Jon Gries (Uncle Rico) and Effren Ramirez (Pedro) discuss their cult classic comedy, “Napoleon Dynamite.”

We need to start preparing for the next presidential election

It’s up to us to conduct our own research and look past the misinformation that we are spoon-fed on social media. We need to start preparing for the next presidential election as soon as possible so that we can avoid settling for candidates like our last two presidents — senile, old white men.

Chores and their tedious beauty

My mom did everything she could to make sure I was raised right. She motivates me to take on challenges and, above all else, makes me bring our family’s laundry baskets up and down the stairs.
