Fruit bats and the president's mother

Voyeurism was encouraged Saturday night at the CEPA Art Gallery on Main Street in Buffalo. It was just one of the art displays that are part of the region's largest collaborative art exhibition, the "Beyond/In Western New York" biennial exhibition.The exhibit premiered Friday night at the UB Art Gallery in Amherst, the UB Anderson Gallery in Buffalo and the Carnegie Art Center in North Tonawanda.

Bond-like desert romp

With guns blazing, men screaming and bullets ricocheting off metal, moviegoers would be forgiven for thinking they were sitting through the first twenty minutes of "XXX."But the film was "Sahara," in which Matthew McConaughey proves a bit more up to the task of a semi-believable action adventure hero than Vin Diesel.

'Morrie' story adapts well

Local artists grace the stage at Studio Arena Theater in Mitch Albom's "Tuesdays With Morrie." This touching, heart warming play is cast exclusively from Buffalo's talent.Manny Fried, who plays Morrie Schwartz, has been a prominent presence on local stages for several years.
