Women’s basketball (1-0, 0-0 MAC) defeated the Daemen University Wildcats (0-1, 0-0 ECC) 82-38 in an exhibition matchup on Sunday afternoon, marking Buffalo’s fourth consecutive preseason victory over Daemen.
UB football (4-4, 2-2 MAC) collected their first back-to-back losses of the season following a 47-16 defeat to the Ohio Bobcats (5-3, 3-1 MAC) on Saturday afternoon at Peden Stadium.
In what was their final home game of the regular season, the UB women’s soccer team (10-1-6, 5-1-4 MAC) defeated the reigning Mid-American Conference (MAC) champions Ohio (10-3-4, 5-2-3 MAC) by a score of 2-0 at UB stadium on Thursday night. They followed this performance up with a 1-1 draw against the Miami RedHawks (7-4-6, 3-3-4 MAC) on Sunday afternoon, securing a spot in the MAC tournament.
Since joining UB back in January, head coach Pete Lembo has already made a noticeable impact on the Bulls football team.
In what was the highest scoring game of the season so far for them, the Bulls were defeated on Saturday evening by Western Michigan in their homecoming game by a score of 48-41.

Linebacker Joe Andreessen and cornerbacks Cameron Lewis and Ja’Marcus Ingram took the field for the Buffalo Bills in their Monday Night Football matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, marking the first time three former UB Bulls played on the same National Football League team together.
Following their victory over Niagara Purple Eagles Wednesday night the UB women’s volleyball team (4-9, 0-0 MAC) traveled to Gainesville, Florida to attend the Sunshine Invitation hosted by Florida. Buffalo were unable to come away with a single win, losing both of their matches 3-0. The Bulls have struggled in tournaments, having not won one since hosting the Buffalo Invitational.
After being defeated by the Niagara Purple Eagles in their fall ball opener by a score of 1-5, UB softball (2-1) won both exhibition games on Sunday’s doubleheader against the Edinboro Fighting Scots (0-2) at Nan Harvey Field with scores of 8-1 and 9-1, respectively.
After beating the Akron Zips (5-2-2, 0-2 MAC) 2-0 on the road this past Thursday, the Bulls (7-0-2, 2-0 MAC) returned to UB Stadium on Sunday to battle the Eastern Michigan Eagles (4-4-1, 0-1-1 MAC), winning 1-0 after a goal in the 72nd minute.
In their first conference matchup of the 2024-25 season, UB (3-1, 1-0 MAC) upset the No. 23 ranked Northern Illinois Huskies (2-1, 0-1 MAC) 23-20 on Saturday after overtime, securing the program’s second ever victory over a ranked opponent.
This marks yet another historic accomplishment for the Bulls this season, as they also achieved their first ever top-25 ranking a few weeks earlier and are currently ranked 51st in the NCAA Rating Percentage Index. Buffalo also currently hold a top-20 spot in NCAA goals against average at .429.
The UB women’s soccer team (5-0-2, 0-0 MAC) drew 1-1 against the Colorado College Tigers (4-4-1, 0-0 MW) and beat the Northern Colorado Bears (2-7, 0-0 Big Sky Conference) 2-0 this past weekend. After a dominant preseason, the Bulls are now the second ranked team in the MAC going into conference play.
The UB women’s volleyball team (3-7, 0-0 MAC) competed in the Ohio State Sports Impact Classic in Columbus, Ohio, this past weekend, where they struggled to find a rhythm and ended the tournament without a win. UB volleyball currently holds a seven-game losing streak.
UB’s football team (2-1, 0-0 MAC) beat the University at Massachusetts Minutemen (1-2, 0-0 A10) at UB Stadium on Saturday afternoon with a score of 34-3. This was UMass’s first appearance at UB Stadium since 2015 and marks their last meeting as a non-conference opponent, as the Minutemen are slated to become members of the MAC in 2025.
