Following a 23-22 victory over Akron, UB (6-6, 5-3 MAC) earned a spot in the Camellia Bowl, where the Bulls will be pitted against Georgia Southern (6-6, 3-5 Sun Belt) on Dec. 27. The game will be held in Montgomery, Alabama’s 25,000-seat Cramton Bowl, a century-old stadium that hosted Alabama football from 1922-54.

I have a problem with the consumerism and environmental damage that come with celebrating mid-winter holidays and Thanksgiving. From overproduction and the waste associated with consumerism, to the ecological impacts of the CAFOs (concentrated animal feeding operations) that are producing the staple of your holiday meal, this time of year can get messy.

“Noises Off,” Michael Frayn’s English farce, opened this past weekend in UB’s Center for the Arts. Despite being scheduled for five performances, the weekend snowstorm shut down Friday and Saturday’s shows, but the cast rebounded on Sunday with a performance that knocked audiences’ socks — and maybe even their pants — off.

Snowfall topping six feet in some areas of Western New York forced the Mid-American Conference to postpone this weekend’s matchup between UB (5-5, 4-2 MAC) and Akron (1-9, 0-6 MAC). The game was scheduled for Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at UB Stadium.

Few Americans knew who Marie Yovanovitch was prior to her testimony before Congress during then-President Donald Trump’s first impeachment inquiry. She told the assembled lawmakers that Rudy Giuliani, then Trump’s personal lawyer, and a corrupt Ukrainian worked to smear her and eventually pressured the U.S. State Department to remove her from her post. This led to the House’s vote to impeach Trump and prompted the 45th president to criticize her on Twitter as she spoke.

SUNY no longer requires that campuses report the number of active COVID-19 cases or administer COVID-19 tests on campuses as of September, according to SUNY Press Secretary Holly Liapis. The decision was made to “reflect the latest conditions,” and protocols are “subject to change as COVID-related conditions develop,” according to SUNY’s COVID-19 Guidance for the Fall 2022 Semester.
