Scintillating sexual songs to get down to

You're on a date and everything is going just as planned.

You wore the right cologne and the right dress shirt, and you even chose the right restaurant for your big night.

But how are you going to keep the streak alive? How are you going to set the mood right after you've got your date at home alone?

Don't worry: The Spectrum's sex playlist will set the mood and give you the right tune to make your significant other hit the notes.

Marvin Gaye - "Let's Get It On"

If you're not planning on playing this post-date, then I suggested you just drop your date off and head on home. The guitar riff is filled with the legendary 'wah' sound penetrating the air. The driving bass line and gentle cymbals provide a robust feeling yet gentle sound. "Let's Get It On" is a must-have to aid your quest for making love.

Boyz II Men - "I'll Make Love To You"

There is no better way to kick off your sex-capade than with a little Boyz II Men. The four-piece R&B group climbed the charts throughout the '90s with its soulful, heartfelt ballads. "I'll Make Love to You" will be sure to send the right message to your lady; you will make love to her like you always do.

Bruno Mars - "Gorilla"

Bruno Mars has a way with the ladies. With "Gorilla," there is no hiding the clear meaning of getting down and dirty. The lyrics just scream sex. "You got your legs up in the sky / With the devil in your eyes / Let me hear you say you want it all / Say it now, say it now."

But that's not the most interesting part about the tender song, which strikes power chords throughout to provide a little punch and turn this medley into sex overdrive. The chorus gets hot and heavy with, "Ooh, yeah / You and me baby making love like gorillas / Ooh, yeah / You and me baby making love like gorillas." Put this song on your playlist if you really want the cops to come.

Pretty Ricky - "Grind With Me"

Before you get down to business, there is always some foreplay necessary.

"Grind With Me" is the perfect song to make the room a little bit hotter. Your lover will be feeling the vibe especially to the lyrics "Baby grind on me / Relax your mind, take your time on me / Let me get deeper shorty ride on me / Now come and sex me 'til your body gets weak."

With this jam on your playlist, there is no doubt that you will make your partner weak. Just make sure you stay hydrated and well rested before your big night.

Justin Timberlake - "You Got It On"

Justin Timberlake is in every woman's fantasy. His most recent album, The 20/20 Experience, provides listeners with a collection of hit songs mixed with love ballads that warrant a few panty drops. "You Got It On" is slow-paced enough to get things hot and heavy but upbeat enough to make it an enjoyable listen.

You can feel something happening in the lyrics: "First I take you out / Then you turn around, baby / Then you back it up / Ooh yeah, like we had our own fast lane / So I take you home, drive you wherever you want, baby / Cause I know that we're gonna end up back where we started."

This song might speak to your date that she's got it on, but by the end of the song, she'll be taking off what she's got on.

J. Holiday - "Bed"

The lyrics-and-beat combination is the perfect marinade for a sex anthem. Just reference the lyrics "I'm starin' at you while you sleep / Irreplaceable beauty / Put my face up in your neck and breathe (Ooh, breathe) / Take you into my senses / Wake up, it's time to finish."

So intimate and so beautiful.

Timothy Bloom - "Til the End of Time"

This beautiful R&B song has a wonderful blend of male and female voices. The male voice drives the music, but the female voice pushes this song to the next level. What really makes this a sexy, heartfelt tune is the gorgeous-sounding blues guitar sound that provides a crisp tone to the music.

John Legend - "P.D.A. (We Just Don't Care)"

This song is the glue that will hold your playlist together. John Legend uses provocative lyrics but the sound of his piano mixed with his gentle voice hides the lyrics. It's genius. The jazzy-sounding tone will make your date feel at home. Add some wine while you're at it. Everyone loves a little wine with a good piano tune. With all of these key ingredients, the love you make might be too loud for your neighbors, but just look your lover in the eyes and say, "We just don't care."

Norah Jones - "Turn Me On"

Norah Jones has one of the most beautiful, delicate voices I've ever heard. There is a sense of calmness that overcomes your body as you listen to her hit her stride in this song. The song is a perfect way to embark upon your evening with lyrics like, "Like a flower waiting to bloom / Like a light bulb in a dark room / I'm just sitting here waiting for you / To come on home and turn me on."

The lyrics speak for themselves. You get back home, bloom that flower and flip that light switch. Don't make her wait. Turn her on.

Whitney Houston - "Saving All My Love for You"

Whitney Houston was known for her strong voice and love ballads. "Saving All My Love for You" is a classic tune that you need to put on your "boogie-down" playlist. It's a break from the aggressive sexual music above. With a long workday in the way of getting to your loved on, this song will speak volumes - letting your boo know that you are saving all your love for her. Just don't let it build up.

Miguel - "Adorn"

Do I need to explain why this song is on the playlist? I shouldn't, but I will anyway. Miguel uses his voice in this hit song to really speak to women. He speaks about how much he adores his woman and how he respects her.

He tugs on the heart strings when he says, "These lips can't wait to taste your skin / Baby, no, no / And these eyes, yeah, can't wait to see your grin, ooh ooh baby / Just let my love / Just let my love adorn you / Please baby, yeah," in a high-pitched falsetto voice.

Include this song and you will have your lover dressing down in no time.

Trey Songz - "Neighbors Know My Name"

A sex playlist would be nothing without a little Trey Songz on it. This song screams everything related to sex and more.

Throughout the song, Songz lets you know that his neighbors know his name with lyrics like: "Take this pillow right here (grab this) / And I know you're so excited, if you bite it they won't hear / And you know just what we capable of, when we makin' love / So the music gone be loud, you gone scream and shout / Girl your body's a problem, they call me the problem solver."

Do I need to say anything else? Johnny in 5C just became your loudest neighbor in the Fargo quad.

Drake - "Own It"

Drake is pretty straightforward when it comes to writing songs about making love. On his recent album Nothing Was the Same, almost every song is about women.

But the one that stands out is definitely "Own It." It has the perfect balance of drums and special effects to set the mood right. The lyrics are also perfect for what might happen to you later in the evening.

"You're still the one that I adore / Ain't much out there to have feelings for / Guess whose it is? Guess whose it is? / Guess whose it is? Guess whose it is? / Yours."

By the end of the night you will own it.

Frank Ocean - "Thinkin Bout You"

Frank Ocean does a nice job mixing together an oceanic sound with a light snare drum that echoes sex.

He wins people over with his lyrics and falsetto voice, though. "A tornado flew around my room before you came," he sings. "Excuse the mess it made, it usually doesn't rain."

After playing this song, your room will look like a tornado flew through it.

Marvin Gaye - "Sexual Healing"

We started the playlist with Marvin Gaye and we're going to end it with him. This is one of the first songs you think of when you think of sex. Plus, it has a catchy lyrics-music combination to it. "I'm hot just like an oven" is a perfect opening to the song. Focus on making your sweet moves and let Gaye do the talking. Who knows? Maybe things will get hot like an oven. Either that or you will walk home cold just like a refrigerator.
