Omari Jordan
The Buffalo Bills announced Wednesday that former UB standout Omari Jordan has been signed to the team's practice squad.
Jordan, 6'6" and 305 pounds, was signed as a free agent by the Baltimore Ravens last April and was on the Ravens' practice squad until the past few weeks.
Jordan joins two other UB products on NFL rosters. All-time leading receiver Drew Haddad is currently with the Indianapolis Colts while offensive tackle Ed Ellis is with the San Diego Chargers.
Volleyball
UB fell to Kent State Wednesday night, losing three games to one. The Bulls (8-9, 0-3 MAC) fell short again in their quest for their first MAC victory in two years. Buffalo lost game one 30-15, before bouncing back to take game two 30-27. The Bulls couldn't close the deal, losing games three and four 30-20 and 30-25 respectively
Junior standout Lindsay Matikosh had her seventh straight double-double in kills and digs with ten each. Freshmen Amy Brown recorded 32 assists and fellow freshmen Katie Weekley added nine kills and three blocks.
Northern Illinois comes to Alumni Arena tonight at 7 and Western Michigan arrives for a 7 p.m. game tomorrow
Women's Soccer
The UB women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of Niagara University in Lewiston, NY on Wednesday night. It marked the second straight game that the Bulls (2-5-4) have been shut out.
Niagara got both of its goals from Rosie Luzak, the nation's second leading scorer. Despite being unable to tally a score on the board, the Bulls did manage to outshoot Niagara, 25-15. Emily Russell led the way with eight shots. Anna-Lesa Calvert started in goal for the Bulls, allowing two goals and making five saves.
