For the fourth time in program history, the Bulls are going bowling.
Buffalo (7-5, 5-3) accepted an invitation to the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl, which was announced on Sunday. UB will take on Charlotte (7-5, 5-3) of Conference USA in Nassau on Dec. 20.
“I’m proud of the season our football program, under the guidance of head coach Lance Leipold, has had which afforded us the ability to play a very important 13th game,” said UB Athletic Director Mark Alnutt.
The Bulls won five of their last six games, going 2-2 in non-conference play and 5-3 against conference opponents. The 49ers won their last five games, and finished with the same non-conference and conference records as the Bulls.
The Bulls and 49ers will do battle at the 15,000-seat Thomas Robinson Stadium.
“Coach [Will] Healy and his staff have done a tremendous job at Charlotte and we are looking forward to the challenge of playing his team,” said UB Head Coach Lance Leipold.
In 2018, the Bulls lost to Troy 42-32 in the Dollar General Bowl.
