Head coach Lance Leipold addresses the football team after his first practice as Bulls head coach in the ADPRO Sports Training Center. Leipold has signed a one-year contract extension with the Bulls.

UB football's head coach Lance Leipold reached an agreement with the university on Wednesday for a one-year contract extension. With the extension, Leipold is under contract with Buffalo until 2020.

Leipold, who led the Bulls to a 5-7 record last year, is the first coach in school history to win five games in his first season.

"We are confident in Lance and his staff and are pleased with the progress that has been made," said Athletic Director Allen Greene in a statement. "He is building a program the right way and the future is bright under his leadership."

Leipold and UB football will hold their annual Blue & White scrimmage this Saturday at 2 p.m. at UB Stadium.
