Gunmen rob Heights students in home invasion

A UB student and his roommates were robbed at gunpoint in their Minnesota Avenue home last Wednesday by five masked attackers, according to The Buffalo News.

The robbers stole three cell phones and about $450 before running away. District E police told the Buffalo News that the gunmen entered the house in the 300 block of Minnesota just after 10 p.m. and beat one of the residents in the head.

The Wednesday break-in is not the first home-invasion-style robbery of the semester. At the beginning of September, there was a series of knifepoint robberies by an unknown assailant on LeBrun near Bailey Avenue and at Main Street and Capen Boulevard. Both those crimes occurred during mid-morning hours and left many students in the Heights startled and on guard.

The Buffalo Police were unavailable for comment.
