Linebacker Joe Andreessen and cornerbacks Cameron Lewis and Ja’Marcus Ingram took the field for the Buffalo Bills in their Monday Night Football matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, marking the first time three former UB Bulls played on the same National Football League team together.

It was also the first time the Bills players were active at the same time for the same team, as they never got the chance to play alongside each other as Bulls.

Andreessen, as known as “Buffalo Joe,” played for UB in 2023 and made his regular season debut on Monday night. This comes after the Bills saw excellent performances from the Depew, New York native during the preseason, leading to Andreessen making the 53-man roster.

Lewis has been a reliable force on the backend for a Bills defense that continues to deal with injuries at crucial positions. He played 44 games for UB from 2015 to 2018, recording 117 solo tackles and five interceptions. On Monday night, he recorded five tackles, tied for the second most in the game.

Ingram played his senior season at UB after transferring from Texas Tech in 2021. He started in 11 games, notching 47 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble and three pass breakups. He made his presence on the Bills known in a game against the Miami Dolphins, picking off quarterback Tua Tagovailoa twice with one going for six.

The Bulls-turned-Bills will be sure to have all eyes on them as they continue to contribute to a team looking to make it back to the playoffs and finish the story.
