The Spectrum Challenge: Week Four

Establishing habits that stick

The final week of The Spectrum Challenge has finally arrived. Now it is up to the competitors to let the habits they have developed over the past four weeks become lifelong changes in their every day lives.

Although Joyce Wang only lost one pound, she began frequenting the gym at Governors regularly and has addressed her tendency to overeat at each meal. Jamie Raymond, a news editor, kicked his soda habit and a significant amount of poundage along with it.

Rachel Bellavia got back on track with her Tae Kwon Do regimen, and David Jarka began lifting weights, eating better and exercising. Alex Rubin may have gotten carried away over spring break with a five-pound weight gain, but it is slowly, and healthily, coming off.

The moral of the story? If you want to see changes in your body and energy levels, take four weeks to establish healthy habits. They might just stick.
