During preparation for the MAC tournament, the Bulls picked up another win against the Eastern Michigan Eagles.

After a tough loss to Toledo (21-6,12-4 MAC) this past Wednesday, women's basketball (22-5,11-4 MAC) regained their momentum on Saturday with a resounding 71-54 victory over the Eastern Michigan Eagles (2-25,1-15 MAC) at Alumni Arena.

Former forward Kourtney Brown, was honored during halftime to celebrate her accomplishments as a Bull. Brown is the only player in program history to receive the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Year award, leads the program in blocks and field goals and is second in points and rebounds. She joins the short list of players to receive the honor of having their playing number hung from the rafters.

The Bulls maintained the lead throughout the contest, not taking their foot off the gas after starting with a 12-2 run. Strong helpside defense from the Bulls forced Eastern Michigan to commit turnovers and take lower percentage shots throughout the game.

The first of numerous double-digit runs for The Bulls started with 7:11 remaining in the second quarter. The Bulls grew their lead from 26-17 to 38-17 in four minutes.
The Eagles allowed another run from the end of the second quarter into the start of the third, when the Bulls scored 11 unanswered points to extend their lead further.

Buffalo was able to score 56 points in the paint, while Eastern Michigan was only able to find a mere 12 all game. The Bulls were very defensively effective, forcing Eastern Michigan to take low-percentage looks at the end of the shot clock on several plays.

The Bulls stellar passing into the paint allowed them to feast on easy layups all game. These high percentage looks, along with their defensive motor were the reason the Bulls were able to go on these runs and take such a commanding stance in this game.

UB will travel to their final away competition of the season to take on the Ball State Falcons (22-7, 14-2 MAC) this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN +.
