“I have nothing to wear!” Is what you won’t be saying this St. Patrick’s day— or at least The Spectrum hopes so.
A combination of Buffalo graciously hosting its 7th annual LepreCon Bar Crawl a week before St. Patrick’s Day and crafting a stellar social media algorithm leaves the Spectrum readers with a curated list of St. Patrick’s Day outfit inspiration.
Let’s go green.
Right now a lot of gold and tortoise shell is trending, or at least it is on my For You Page. These things also go well with green.
The warm tones of gold and the earthy tones in brown complement the natural hues of green. Pops of gold can be added to outfits through jewelry, but also through sunglasses. This works well because St. Patrick’s Day is generally celebrated during the day (and maybe into the night.)
At $25, Free People has sunglasses at a relatively inexpensive price that are good quality and flattering. My personal favorites are the Luna Classic Aviator Sunglasses. The glasses have variations of gold accents, green lenses and a tortoise shell frame for a St. Patty’s win.
At the LepreCon Bar Crawl, a popular choice for gold sunglasses was the Amazon 90s frame sunglasses. Coming in at a lower price point, these glasses also work well for everyday, making them a better bang for your buck.
Another popular print right now is camo, which works well for St. Patrick’s Day because … well it’s green. Hollister has camo print carpenter jeans that Tik Tok user @emralclothing suggests pairing with a white St. Patrick’s day tee.
Content creator Brianna LaPiglia AKA Brianna Chickenfry also recently launched a collaboration with Boy’s Lie. She created a camo sweat set that reads “How Lucky Are We.” How lucky are you that this came out just in time for a comfy St. Paddy’s look?
Another comfy look, but one that can be worn out, are boxer shorts or linen pants. Target has green checkered boxer shorts and striped lounge pants that would pair well with a white crew neck or tank.
Don’t be afraid to not go green. My favorite color is pink. We all learned this summer through Wicked that pink goes great with green. For St. Patrick’s day I am pairing a trending Amazon bodysuit with a green Strawberry Shortcake crewneck I found at TJ Maxx for $13.
Not that any of our responsible readers would do last minute shopping, but there are lots of random places no one would expect to have St. Patrick’s day apparel. Starting with the most out of the blue— Wegmans.
The Wegmans on Sheridan Drive in Buffalo has a constant rotation of Buffalo related apparel. This holiday season, they came out with some green Buffalove. Their apparel includes Buffalo logos on green tie-dye sweatshirts and T-shirts.
Five Below also has some cute St. Patrick’s day garb like Lucky Charm headbands and hats. If accessories are your last resort, try out a basic top with a denim skirt or jeans that you can layer. My personal favorite is Garage’s Estelle long sleeve, which is half off right now.
Most chain craft supply stores have holiday related accessories. Right now Hobby Lobby is having a 40% off sale on St. Patrick’s day items like tattoos, headbands and necklaces. If you’re feeling crafty, they also sell trucker hats for $2.
Grab a green trucker hat with a white front panel and look up some designs on Pinterest. Either paint, or buy some iron-on paper and print the design out, and you have unique St. Patrick’s day looks for less than $5.
So stop worrying about money and what to wear. The Spectrum hasn’t failed you before, so trust us on these St. Patty’s Day ideas. Hope this helps and Happy St. Patty’s Day!
