Are you questioning your sexuality now that you’re in college and surrounded by so many hotties? Maybe you’re a curious woman who came to college with a boyfriend, but now you notice yourself looking at other women in class or around campus. Maybe you’re a man who has always been told you can’t be gay because it isn’t “masculine.” Or maybe, on the other end of the scale, you came to college as a lesbian or a gay man or whatever you did but now you realize you’re attracted to the opposite gender. Whichever case may be yours, you are absolutely not alone, and I’m here to give you some support through your journey.
Exploring your sexuality is a rite of passage, at least in my mind. We all deserve the chance to have lots of sex with lots of different people and figure out what works best for us! Try new things- new positions, new environments (No, I’m not actively encouraging having sex in public...), new accessories- because that’s the key to finding out what works best for you. There is no shame- let me repeat that: NO SHAME, ZERO SHAME, ZILCH SHAME in getting yours.
For yours truly, the best thing I did for myself in college was finding my little group of other gays. I’ve got my lesbians, my bisexuals, my gay men, my queer folk, and every single one of them makes my life so much brighter. And, of course, I bring loads of light to their lives as well, because “a day without lesbians is like a day without sunshine,” as was coined during the Florida orange juice boycott of 1977 to use against the homophobic Anita Bryant.
What is with people and hating on love? Seems a tad bit counterintuitive to moi, but maybe we should save that for another week…
I’ll keep this short n’ sweet this week, but I will leave you with the fact that about a quarter of college students in the United States are with you, and probably more that we just don’t have in the data. I know it can be discouraging and frustrating at times but persevere because it gets SO good once you figure out what works for you and your body, take it from me.
And if all else fails, don’t forget a favorite slogan of mine: “The bi way is the highway.”
Stay spicy lovers,
