UB ranks No. 36 in best public colleges and No. 76 in national universities in the latest U.S. News and World Report rankings, showing no change from last year.

The U.S. News & World Report evaluates hundreds of colleges and universities based on factors such as affordability and post-graduation outcomes. This year’s rankings removed consideration of the six-year graduation rates of first-generation students, further emphasizing the outcomes of students who receive Pell Grants.

The university ranked No. 59 in best undergraduate business programs, three spots up from last year.

In a statement emailed to The Spectrum, Dean of UB School of Management Ananth Iyer said that it is “gratifying to see these efforts reflected.”

“Focusing our resources on recruiting exceptional students and world-class faculty has significantly boosted the quality of our academic programs and our global standing,” Iyer said.

Other notable rankings include No. 53 in computer science programs and No. 57 in engineering programs. Compared to last year, UB dropped 65 spots to No. 96 nationally in best nursing programs.
UB continues to rank below Stony Brook (No. 58) and Binghamton (No. 73). It stayed above the University at Albany (No. 121) and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (No. 144).
