On Tuesday, UB announced the men’s basketball team will open their season at home against Gannon on Nov. 25 pending approval from the New York State Department of Health. This will be the first time these teams face off since the Mideast Tournament in 1990-91.

The Bulls will also travel to take on rival team St. Bonaventure on Dec. 22. This will be the 11th consecutive season these two teams square off. In last season’s matchup, the Bulls defeated the Bonnies 84-79 at Alumni Arena.

As of Nov. 19, the Bulls’ non-conference schedule consists of games set for Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 inside “Bubbleville” at Mohegan Sun against Iona and Vermont. The status of the games are still to be determined, as both Iona and Vermont might not make the trip due to COVID concerns, but the Bulls plan to head to Mohegan Sun and play two games, regardless of its opponents.

The non-conference schedule also consists of a Dec. 29 contest against West Virginia in Morgantown, a Dec. 19 matchup against Syracuse at the Carrier Dome,  the upcoming Nov. 25 home opener against Gannon and a meeting with St. Bonaventure on Dec. 22 at the Reilly Center.

In accordance with current New York State guidelines, fans will not be in attendance at Alumni Arena.
