Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter filled out a brief Q&A with a Spectrum editor. His handwritten signature below his answers have been deemed authentic by PSA/DNA.

In January, I reached out to former U.S. President Jimmy Carter via USPS. I provided the retired politician with a Q&A for The Spectrum, which he filled out and returned sometime in February.

His handwritten signature below his answers has been carefully examined and deemed authentic by PSA/DNA, the world’s leading third-party authentication service for autographs and memorabilia.

Q: What is a fond memory you have from your time in the Oval Office?

A: Keeping peace and promoting human rights.

Q: What is life like now as a former US President?

A: I consider these to be the best years of my life.

Q: What are your thoughts on President Trump’s administration?

A: He is unprepared. I pray for him and for our nation.

Q: What advice would you have for a college student who hopes to have a future in politics?

A: Tell the truth and learn how to serve as many others as possible.

Best wishes,

Jimmy Carter
