An image of former Bull Xavier Ford (No. 35) dunking replaced an image of Evans on the Alumni Arena lobby wall. The wall features other players who are also no longer at UB.

The image of former Buffalo men’s basketball point guard Shannon Evans has been removed from the wall of the Alumni Arena lobby.

The photo of Evans, who transferred to Arizona State to join former men’s basketball head coach Bobby Hurley, was replaced with the image of former Bulls forward Xavier Ford sometime Monday or during this past weekend. Ford graduated from UB last semester.

Evans’ exit from UB came in April after he spoke out against Athletic Director Danny White to several media outlets and demanded a full release from his scholarship. White granted Evans a full release and Evans backtracked on his comments about White the next day. The point guard transferred to rejoin Hurley a week later.

The Alumni Arena lobby has wallpaper that features several UB athletes from different sports, including some players who are also no longer with the program. Evans is the first athlete to be removed and replaced from that wall, which went up last January.

Evans must redshirt and not play this season for Arizona State due to transfer rules.
