Buffalo continues to prove why it is one of the most underrated music cities in the United States. This week, indie rock legend Neutral Milk Hotel will be gracing the city with its presence, along with ’70s legend Paul Anka and ’00s throwback The All-American Rejects. No matter your musical preferences, there is no excuse to not make it out to one of these shows because there is truly something for everyone.

Neutral Milk Hotel – Asbury Hall
The legendary indie rock band started by Jeff Magnum in the ’80s reunited in 2013 and has been touring across the country to sold-out concert halls. The group’s music is filled with aching vocals, gentle instrumental arrangements and beautiful feelings. The show will be held in Asbury Hall and for the lucky diehards who have procured a ticket, the show will be a once-in-a-decade experience – because who knows when Neutral Milk Hotel will reunite to tour again.

The Used – The Rapids Theatre
The Used, a four-member band, is an American post-hardcore band from Utah that has found international success for its music. Self-described as “gross pop,” the band has a distinctive raw style that centers on heavy bass, guitar and throaty vocals.

Victor Niglio – Waiting Room
Victor Niglio has dominated the dance scene recently. Niglio, with the support of Diplo, Tiesto and Skrillex, has cemented himself has one of the brightest DJs breaking on the scene. He will be bringing his brand of party to the Waiting Room, where bassheads, electro-lovers and dance music fans all will be able to come together and cut loose.

Alan Doyle – Town Ballroom
Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea will be coming to Town Ballroom to perform an individual set promoting his newest album, So Let’s Go. Doyle, known for poignant storytelling in his songs, will be taking audience members on an adventure. Concertgoers on Friday can expect to escape from their worries in twines of folk-rock and hazy acoustic guitar riffs.
Saturday, April 25
Paul Anka – Seneca Niagara Casino
Canadian singer, songwriter and actor Paul Anka will be performing in Niagara Falls on Saturday. The artist has led an impressive career and is best known for his songwriting work, including Michael Jackson’s “I Never Heard,” Tom Jones’ “She’s a Lady” and Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.” The musician also has his own slew of hit songs, which he will be performing on Saturday night. For anyone looking for an evening of nostalgic ’70s pop tunes – look no further.
Sunday, April 26
The All-American Rejects and MKTO – The Rapids Theatre
Two generations of pop stars are coming together on Sunday in Buffalo. The All-American Rejects, ’00s pop icons, will be playing with MKTO, a modern pop duo who first met on the Nickelodeon show Gigantic. The show will be a fun-filled blast from the past. Concertgoers can come out and reminisce about a band that was playing during their misspent youth, and is now playing with MKTO, a band that you first saw on Nickelodeon TV.
