Where's Simon Cowell when you need him? Someone needs to tell Ashley Tisdale to stick to acting.
Usually Disney does a good job breeding marketable hotties like Justin Timberlake and the infamous social disaster Britney Spears. Unfortunately, 21-year-old Tisdale can only be categorized as "hot."
Her album "Headstrong" dropped Feb. 6 and is slowly pouring into the hands of pre-teens across the nation. These 12 tracks of synthesized heard-it-before pop tunes will be about as popular as 9 a.m. classes on Fridays. Ouch.
You may recognize this blonde bombshell from Disney's Emmy-winning "High School Musical" and her supporting roles on many other hit television shows like "Still Standing" and "Grounded for Life." Unsurprisingly Tisdale felt the need to throw an album into the mix, following the current trend of most young actresses in Hollywood.
Track two is titled "He Said She Said."
"Boy walk in the spot he so fresh / he got what he need to be impressin' / Just look at the way that he dressin' / ain't no question chicks like wooo," sings Tisdale.
Yes, there are three "O's" in "Wooo." From these lyrics it is clear that Tisdale is trying to put herself out there, be some sort of a role model and explain to teenagers what is personal to her. When teenagers all over the world have a bad day and turn to her music for inspiration, track two must really get them through the night. Thank goodness for that boy who walked in the spot so fresh.
On top of the completely lame lyrics, it seems as though Tisdale produced this album in order to divulge herself more completely to her fans. Though, her attempt to form an identity comes off as self-involved and uninspired.
Aside from the album being absolutely horrific, Tisdale seems like a driven goal-oriented woman. However, her music is not meant for the college ear, and taking an unnecessary trip to go buy her album in this Buffalo weather would just be plain stupid.
