"After Setback, Top DJ to Spin at Sphere"

Student Association President George Pape said he was proud to land Junior Vasquez, who he called "one of the best DJs in the world," for the SA Club Party following the Holiday Gala on Dec. 5.

Only one problem -- on the night of the Gala, the New York DJ was snowed in.

"We couldn't get the guy out of New York City," Pape said.

SA officials rescheduled Vasquez for tonight's SA Club Party at Sphere Entertainment Complex. This time, clear skies are forecast for both Buffalo and Manhattan.

According to Rolling Stone Magazine, Vasquez is a prominent production artist and club DJ in New York, where he has done remixes for Madonna, Whitney Houston, Prince and Michael Jackson.

"We're very happy he's taking our bid and coming up here," Pape said.

The club's doors will open to all people 18 and over at 10 p.m. Students with ID will be charged $10, while members of the general public will be charged $15.

Each of SA's first three club parties have been located at the Sphere, a club and bar at 681 Main St. in downtown Buffalo. The club holds just over 2,000 patrons.

Pape said he is expecting a capacity crowd.

"Try going somewhere in New York where DJ Vasquez is spinning and paying $10 at the door," he said.
