The women's tennis team was able to retain their perfect record on the young season by cruising to victory over visiting St. Francis (PA) at the UB Tennis Center. UB swept the singles matches, cruising to victory in all six matches in straight sets.

In first singles, sophomore sensation Kristen Ortman defeated Amy Croskey 6-3, 6-1. UB's Miglena Nenova and Michelle Kollarova were victorious at second and third singles, respectively. Nenova beat Lelsey Wenzel 6-2, 6-1, while Kollarova shut out Jessica Wanchalk 6-0, 6-0.

Rounding out the rest of the Bulls singles lineup, freshman Katrin Fisher downed Allison Arcurio 6-0, 6-0 at number four singles while Lisa Wittman beat Mary Palmrer 6-1, 6-2 in the fifth singles match. Sheri Ugowski had little trouble, cruising to victory over Rebecca Seybold 6-1, 6-2 at number six singles.

Ortman and Nenova teamed up for the first doubles match and defeated Croskey and Wenzel 8-2. In second doubles, the duo of Kollarova and Fisher beat Palmer and Wanchalk 8-0, while Ugowski and Onessa Williams rolled to victory over Lauren Gamerro and Johnna Jackson in third doubles 8-0.

Next up for the Bulls is the Can-Am Invitational Tournament, which will be co-hosted by UB and Niagara University. Friday and Saturday's matches will take place at the UB Tennis Center while Sunday's finals matches will move to Niagara.
