Basketball Schedule

A visit from Big Ten member Penn State, a trip to Rutgers of the Big East and an appearance in the 2004 ESPN Bracket Buster Saturday highlight the 2003-04 University at Buffalo men's basketball schedule, which was released on Thursday. Four of the Bulls' first five games will be played at Alumni Arena. UB opens the season at home against Canisius on Nov. 21. It will be a doubleheader with the women's basketball team. Buffalo's first road game will be at Rutgers on Nov. 25, and Buffalo will then host Penn State on Nov. 29. Conference play kicks into high gear on Jan. 3, when the Bulls travel to Toledo to take on the Rockets.

Bracket Buster

UB will participate in the second annual ESPN Bracket Buster on Feb. 21. The Bulls' opponent for the game, which will be played on the road, will be announced on Feb. 1. Thirteen MAC teams will participate with the 46 total teams from 11 conferences in the event, which has doubled in size since last year. Five of the games will be aired nationally by ESPN.
