Basketball

An open practice will be held on Monday, Nov. 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Alumni Arena, courtesy of the UB men and women's basketball teams.

All fans are invited to come and view both teams as they prepare for the 2002-03 season. Every person in attendance will receive two free tickets to both squads' home openers.

The men will kick off their home campaign on Nov. 22 against Cornell, and the women will battle Colgate on Nov. 26.

Devon Russell

Devon Russell, who plays defense for the Buffalo Bulls women's soccer team, has received the honor of being named to the All-MAC Conference Second Team.

Although she was named to the first team last year, being honored two years in a row is, nevertheless, a great accomplishment.

The announcement was made at the 2002 MAC Women's Soccer Tournament Banquet on Nov. 7 in Oxford, Ohio.

Buffalo Sabres

The team is winless in its last seven games after losing last night 2-0 on the road to the Carolina Hurricanes. The Sabres ended their six-game road trip with an 0-4-2 record.

Jeff O'Neill scored at 17:43 of the first period for Carolina. Craig Adams scored at 17:46 of the third period to ice the game for the Hurricanes.

The Sabres return home to play the Atlanta Thrashers Saturday at 7 p.m. in HSBC Arena.
