Men's Soccer

UB goalkeeper Brian Wozniak made six saves in a losing effort as the Bulls (6-7-1, 3-3-0 MAC) lost on the road to Akron 3-0 Friday night. The Zips (6-7-1, 3-1-0) outshot the Bulls 17-5. Alex Odwell, Hans Jorgen Haugland and Dino Campellone all scored for the Zips who then lost to Bowling Green Sunday in conference play.

The Bulls are currently in fourth place in the MAC but could be seeded anywhere between third and fifth place for the conference playoffs that begin Nov. 8. The quarterfinals and semifinals of the tournament will be played at Marshall University. The championship game will be played at the highest remaining seed.

UB's next action is at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night when they travel to Canisius to take on the Golden Griffins.

Women's Volleyball

Buffalo suffered a pair of weekend shutouts as they traveled across the Great Lakes to take on Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan.

UB (9-16, 1-10 MAC) was dominated in straight sets by the Broncos (10-12, 4-5) on Friday night, losing all three games by identical 30-18 scores. Alexis Bouie led the Bulls in losing effort with eight kills and four blocks.

On Saturday Buffalo met a superior EMU (18-5, 7-4) team who extended their home match win streak to 14 as they shutout UB (30-19, 30-21, 30-28). Bulls' outside hitter Lindsay Matikosh recorded her 18th double double of the season against the Eagles with team highs of 10 kills and 13 digs.

MAC Football

The conference now has two teams ranked in the ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Coaches' Poll, which was released Sunday morning. Bowling Green, who is the only undefeated team in the MAC, is ranked at No. 18. The Marshall Thundering Herd are ranked No. 25.

BGSU is also ranked in the new AP Poll at No. 21. The Herd are on the cusp of being ranked in that poll, receiving 104 points to garner a No. 26 spot.

Bowling Green defeated Ball State Saturday and Marshall dropped Central Michigan.
