This letter is in response to George Zornick's article entitle "10 Reasons Never to Be Bored." It's very refreshing, especially at this university, to find a student who advocates the city of Buffalo. I grew up here, and I love it. I also know how the people here feel about the city, the school and most importantly, us as Buffalonians. The "10 Reasons Never to Be Bored" goes hand in hand with what makes Buffalo Buffalo.
I am from Buffalo. I eat chicken wings, not Buffalo wings. HSBC is an arena, not a bank. Jack Kemp was a quarterback, not a vice presidential candidate. I say POP, not soda. I prefer Mighty Taco to Taco Bell. I say "sub," not hero, hoagie, bomber or po'boy. It can snow 3 feet, and school won't be canceled. Ted's Hotdogs, Bison Chip Dip, Aunt Rosie's Loganberry, Orange Chocolate, Sponge Candy, Chiavetta's chicken. It's a sucker, not a lollipop, and the bars are open till 4 a.m. Chippewa. Fake ID's at 15, but Canada at 19. HSBC is not just a bank. And, more importantly . best food in the world.
