Women's Soccer
The Bulls opened up their MAC schedule with a split this past weekend. Buffalo kicked it off by eking out a win over Northern Illinois, 1-0. Elizabeth Pfeffer scored her first goal of the season to give UB the win. Things unraveled for Buffalo in their sixth consecutive road game, however, as Western Michigan trounced the Bulls by a score of 5-0. Emily Cox was bombarded in goal, giving up all five goals while recording six saves. UB is 1-2-3 on the season and 1-1-0 in the MAC.
Volleyball
UB ventured to the Syracuse Invitational this past weekend and was able to come away with a solid 2-1 showing. They improved to 4-6 on the season with a 3-0 shutout of Colgate and a 3-1 victory over Brown. Their lone loss came against Syracuse who defeated the Bulls 3-0. Lindsay Matikosh and Katie Henry both made the All-Tournament team. Matikosh led the Bulls with 48 kills (4.8 per game) and 31 digs (3.1 per game). Henry also put up solid numbers with averages of 3.4 kills and 2.1 digs.
Men's Tennis
Buffalo's fall campaign began over the weekend at the Saint Bonaventure Fall Classic. Although there was no team scoring, individual performances of some of the Bulls provided hope for when the team scoring does begin. Randy Rocchio and Josh Leiderman went undefeated in all three matches they played in. After cruising through his first two matches, Rocchio displayed his grit and perseverance in the final, winning 6-3, 2-6, 12-10. Leiderman ran into two 3-set wars in his first two matches, but was also able to complete the triple win by winning in Sunday's finale by a score of 6-4, 7-5. Fery Kaisman and Nick Zieziula went 2-1 on the weekend.
